Planning Process

The planning application for the Mumblin Wind Farm has been lodged with the Minister for Planning and is now under consideration. The application will be assessed against the provisions of the Corangamite Planning Scheme and the Policy and Planning Guidelines for the Development of Wind Energy Facilities in Victoria, which set standards and limits covering the following:

  • Landscape Impact.
  • Shadow flicker.
  • Impact to Flora and Fauna.
  • Sound compliance.
  • Impact to Cultural Heritage.
  • Electromagnetic Interference.

At the appropriate time in the planning process, the Department of Environment Land Water and Planning (DELWP) will seek input from local residents regarding the wind farm planning permit application. At this time a formal notice will be delivered to all residents living in the vicinity of the wind farm, and all planning documents relating to the wind farm will be available to download from this website.
